Why is buying Gardner ATTs Alarms a good idea?
Last January, I was looking for three new alarms and a receiver. I looked online for deals; spoke to other anglers about what alarms they were using and I went to the tackle shops nearby to see what was available to me. After all that I decided to buy a set of Gardner ATT Bite Alarms. It's been a year since I bought them, and here is what I think of them.
The first thing I noticed when I saw the ATTS Alarms was that they are much smaller than other alarms available in stores. That is a big plus for me because I don't want to be carrying a lot of big things when I go out fishing. The ATTs have a rubber feel to them so that I can get a really good grip on them and not let them slip out of my fingers. The soft coating also won't scratch my fishing rods which is a very good thing. The receiver has the same feel to it, with the same type of rubber coating so it won't slip out of your grip even when wet.
The on/off switch on the Attx Receivers is recessed so you won't have any trouble with the receiver turning off by it-self. There is an optional leather case for the receiver from ATT. I did not get one, but I know people who did get it who wanted to protect their receiver better.

The Gardner Att is a very easy alarm to use. Just screw it onto the buzzbar, bankstick, or whatever you have, then take off the cover. When you remove the cover, you turn on the ATT Alarms. You then turn the receiver on, and you are all set. There is nothing to configure or set except for the receiver's volume adjustment. You can set the ATTs Bite Alarms to any of the five LED indicators on the receiver and setting them up is as easy as one two three.
The receiver gives off the typical beeping noise. There are ten sound options, and you can also choose the vibrate mode. For tackle tarts, there are isotopes and rollers in all the colors that will match the LEDs on the Gardner ATT Alarms. The rollers are available in two, four, and six magnets that mean the alarm sensitivity is measured in 1cm, .5 cm and .3 cm of movement on the fish line in order to set off the alarm. I used the two-mag rollers that came with the alarm as a standard with the ATTs. Those work just fine for me.
The receive needs one AA battery to operate. One battery lasted me a whole year. The alarm batteries are 476A 6v, so they are not as common but you will be able to buy them from the same shop that you bought your alarms from. When I purchased my Gardner Alarms I bought an extra pack of three batteries, but I have not had to use them yet.
I am really satisfied with my purchase of these alarms. They are doing exactly what I want them to do. A lot of people want more bells and whistles on their sets, but I prefer simple tools. Theses ATTs are also very durable and waterproof. I once dropped a Gardner ATTs in the water by accident while I was trying to screw it into the backstick. I learned quickly that I should have screwed it in before I put the bankstick in the water. My alarm still works perfectly and I had no problems with it on that fishing trip. All-in-all I will say that the ATTs Bite Alarms are truly worth every penny and compared to some of the other alarms out there it isn’t even that expensive.
